‘Together in memories’, a multiplier event in Izola, Slovenia (5th May 2016)
At the beginning of May, ZDUS hosted Digital Timelines first multiplier event called ‘Together in Memories’ in the small coastal town of Izola in Slovenia. With international presence by guests from The European Federation of Older Persons (EURAG) and honorary presence of the Slovene Member of the European Parliament Mr Ivo Vajgl, more than 100 people with different backgrounds and interests in dementia and memory loss attended.
The event was held to promote the idea behind the project, disseminate the project outputs completed so far, to distribute the Digital Timelines Training guide and to share gained knowledge and experiences on producing a personal digital memory. Following the conference, all this was put into practice, with a cascade training workshop attended by 43 of the delegates.
A special touch was given to the event as Gabrijela Car, a volunteer with diagnosed Alzheimer’s disease spoke openly to the public and presented her experience of the disease, of the Digital Timelines cascade training she attended and how she thinks her own PDM will help her in the future.

The event was also covered by the TV station TV Koper, for a brief statement in English by one of our UK partners represented by David Evans
